SKYY Vodka awards Boksburg-based social changemaker, Durell Jejane, with a bursary to Henley Business School.

Cape Town, South Africa (August 2019): San Francisco-born SKYY Vodka continues to support individuals who drive social advancement, diversity and ingenuity. The brand recently invited aspiring South African entrepreneurs to submit a socially-progressive business proposal, that if selected would reward them with a bursary to the reputable Henley Business School.

Out of hundreds of applicants, Athletics South Africa’s Provincial Affairs Manager, Durell Jejane was selected as the recipient of the MBA bursary. Aligned to SKYY’s values brand roots which speak of “building bridges, and not walls,”Jejane aims to bridge the skills gap in socioeconomically developing regions. Born and raised in Boksburg, Jejane’s submission showcases her passion for making an impact in disadvantaged national and international communities through the design and implementation of sustainable sporting programmes.

“I am extremely grateful to SKYY for giving me the tools to kickstart my journey towards playing my part in impacting a new generation of South Africans. The MBA bursary at Henley Business School will open opportunities for my professional and personal growth that I can’t yet fully imagine. I’ll gain a deep understanding of business and practically apply these ideas in the world of sports. Learning from experts and networking with the national and international alumni will open possibilities and access that will benefit not only me but the many lives I intend to touch through sport,” Jejane remarked.
