Nederburg’s The Red Table restaurant, situated in its historic manor house dating from 1800, is once again participating in South Africa’s Restaurant Week, from 19 October to 5 November 2017.

 

Expect pure country hospitality, matched with full-blown flavour!

 

Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink on arrival, while you take in the beautiful surroundings alluding to the stories of those who have laboured to establish Nederburg as one of South Africa’s most loved, award-winning wineries. Scan the landscape, relish the wide, open skies and enjoy the majestic mountain views.

 

Then settle down for a lazy lunch featuring a main course of smoked snoek fisherman’s tart, served with a fresh summer salad, and accompanied by a complimentary glass of Nederburg’s expressive, exuberant and delicious The Anchorman Chenin Blanc 2016 from the Heritage Heroes collection.  This wine is a stunner, featuring impressive awards such as best South African Chenin blanc at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards, and listed as a 2017 Standard Bank Top 10 Chenin Blanc Challenge winning wine. It is named to commemorate Philippus Wolvaart, who founded Nederburg in 1791.

 

Dessert comes in the form of milk tart Pavlova, best enjoyed with Nederburg The Winemasters Noble Late Harvest 2017, recently awarded a platinum medal at the 2017 edition of the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards; or Heritage Heroes The Beautiful Lady Gewürztraminer 2016, brimming with alluring notes of rose petals, Turkish delight, litchi and pineapple.

 

All of this pure indulgence is offered at only R150 per head.  Wines, apart from a complimentary glass of The Anchorman Chenin Blanc 2016 served with the main meal, and other drinks are excluded from the price.
