Its already April and the start of the second quarter of the year.  Are you achieving what you set out to achieve this year or are you being swept up by the current of busy daily living?

 

If it is the latter, there are some ways to get yourself back on track to achieving those goals you set for 2016.

 

Firstly, recognise and gratefully acknowledge the past, then allow yourself to let go of it. Secondly, go back to re-determine what your highest values are. There is an effective tool for doing this and it is available for free on my website www.drdemartini.com.

 

Your most important, highest priority values determine what you will spontaneously attend to and how you will act. Thirdly, make a promise not to compare yourself to others. When you do this, you could potentially introduce another person’s core values into your life, and berate yourself for not being more like them.

 

I have five practical suggestions to get you back on track:

  1. Stop whatever you are doing right now, reflect and introspect. Look at every action you are doing in your typical day, list all of them and prioritise them according to which produces the greatest overall fulfilment.
  2. Create a daily action list that features your highest, second highest and third highest priorities. Begin building momentum to a new, more productive direction by sticking to your highest priority actions that build your self-worth.
  3. At the middle and end of each day, ask yourself what worked and what has not worked. Then, make a list of both to review as daily “to do” and “not to do” checklists.
  4. At the end of each day, ask yourself, “What did I accomplish and how can I do it more effectively and efficiently tomorrow?”
  5. Finally, at the end of the day, document in writing what you can be grateful for. When you are grateful for what you have, you will receive more to be grateful for.

 

With these simple steps, you can be well on your way to getting back on track and to achieving the goals you set out at the beginning of the year.
