In the light of the unforeseen events unfolding globally with the spread of the Coronavirus, Gåte Restaurant’s annual closure period will be fast-tracked to April 2020.

Noting President Cyril Ramaphosa’s hard-hitting address to the nation, Quoin Rock Estate fully supports all measures mandated for the management of the Covid-19 outbreak.

With the need for social distancing in mind, Gåte Restaurant will remain open until 31 March 2020, whereafter it will close for the full month of April. All activities up until this period will adhere to the guidelines issued in Government Notice Vol. 657, No. 43107 on 18 March, 2020. These are regulations issued in terms of Section 27 (2) of the Disaster Management Act, 2002.

Up until 31 March, 2020, Gåte Restaurant has extended lunch hours to 5pm. The evening dining experience has been suspended due to changes in the Government Notice.

Quoin Rock Estate prioritises the health and safety of all their patrons and staff, and during this period the estate will conform to all health protocols outlined to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Since its launch in 2018 the family-owned estate has introduced a new dimension of luxury to the Cape winelands and the Gaiduk family and staff at Quoin Rock look forward to continuing welcoming guests back to experience at (remove) the exquisite cuisine and award-winning wine wonders that Gåte Restaurant offers.
