Will The Real Entrepreneur Please Stand Up So many of our unemployed people in South Africa are being forced into becoming Entrepreneurs through government and NGO programmes only to be let down by the real world shortly after they return home. Being an Entrepreneur is not something that you can just learn in a few workshop sessions. Playing a cash flow game or developing a dream board will give you some enthusiasm and maybe some skills but never enough to start and run a successful business. I get to meet a lot of people worse off now than before they were offered a free course on how to start a business. These courses are far too often run by inexperienced trainers who have had little or no experience in the real business world and they offer free coupons through agencies and business plan development, only to build the participants up and then watch them fall to below their initial state both financially and emotionally shortly after. What is needed is a simple selection process. A way to find those gems among us who have an idea, some form of innovation linked with a deep enthusiasm and desire to make the world better place. Those are the people who need some guidance, coaching and development towards starting a business that will one day be sustainable enough to employ others and provide for their families. Real Entrepreneurs are not made from unemployed people; Real Entrepreneurs are those who see the world as places to add value through innovative ideas and solutions. They are people who are never satisfied with the status quo and desire to see change and improvement. Real Entrepreneurs have a sense of business skills and a desire to learn new skills each day and improve their own lives and education in order to improve others. But real entrepreneurs are often trapped in jobs where they are unrealised, frustrated and lack the creative environment to launch themselves into the future they crave. My desire is to find these people, no matter where they are, to release them from their shackles of employment and empower them with skills, wisdom and tools to go forth into the world and make a difference that is life changing and sustainable. Where are you? Let your journey begin. Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
