Joan Madibeng to host 4th Annual Women, The Real Architects of Society event

Women, the Real Architects of Society, an annual women’s event that aims to motivate and encourage progressive transformation and recognize achievement among South African women, is hosting its 4th annual event. The event is taking place on 30 August 2014 in Lynwood at the International Convention Centre (CSIR) in the city of Tshwane. Joan Madibeng, former Miss South Africa 2003, business woman and philanthropist launched Women, the Real Architects of Society in 2011 with the creative objective to cover all aspects of a woman’s dynamic life and provide a platform to network and celebrate womanhood whilst examining key topics.

“This year is a very special event for us in that we are celebrating 20 years of democracy and we will be looking back and covering what this means to women in particular,” said Joan Madibeng.

“For me this is all about how to to love, inspire and make a difference.  We are celebrating 20 years of empowerment and remembering milestones of a progressive journey whilst empowering women by giving them a platform, information and tools to help them achieve success in their lives. One of our key objectives is to open and encourage dialogue amongst South African women and share issues as well as successes in order to carry forward our achievements.”

Every year expert guest speakers are handpicked to share their insight and provide valuable tools and information varying across all lifestyle aspects from business to fashion to being a mom etc.

“We have chosen the finest guest speakers for this year’s event including Shanduka Group CEO, Phuti Mahanyele who will focus on women in the corporate world, Jenna Clifford world-renowned jewellery designer, to share her  journey in business and success, Corporate trend analyst and design consultant, Dion Chang who will speak about trends for women in South Africa and Tumi Frazier, Author, speaker, professional coach and business consultant, who will talk about balancing her career and a family,” said Madibeng.

These expert talks will be followed by lunch as well as time to interact with speakers and sponsors in the breakaway areas.

The event is preceded by two days of activity. A career expo will take place on 28 August which will allow 200 students and young graduates to engage with corporates for employment opportunities, key study areas in varsity and available bursaries. 29 August 2014 is intergeneration day where guests of all ages will share and discuss current issues in today’s society. Both these events will be hosted at Freedom Park in the city of Tshwane and transport will be provided for all students that have been invited.
