Barbara Kasasa is Owner of Oh Voila, and a SPICE4LIFE Ambassador, she is an accomplished and experienced artist and multi-faceted entrepreneur residing in South Africa. We asked her what her SPICE4LIFE is and that thing that she lives for and is passionate about.

My SPICE4LIFE, is my love for doing things that are different and to make a difference in people’s lives.

I feel inspired doing what I do because I feel very welcome here in South Africa, and I therefore want to give back to the community. I realize there are many women who struggle making a living and caring for their kids as single moms. Aesthetics are very important to me too, in my home and my work. Whilst you can make beautiful, stylish things and at the same time empowering others, you don’t necessarily have to ‘look’ charitable.

I believe that  the earlier I wake up the more successful I am. Success comes with vision, dedication and a lot of passion and drive. Your mind is your only challenge.

My main contribution to the business is…
Where do I begin?….

My best “switch-off” strategy…
Are my children, my partner and my friends. They force me to not work non-stop. I enjoy walks on the beach as this is my me-time, but when I have a walking buddy it is a bonus. Cooking is also my way of disconnecting; sharing a home cooked meal with loved ones is priceless.

The leadership qualities I most admire is…
Honesty, inspiring others and sharing knowledge.

What keeps me going through the tough times are my two teenage boys. They are confident and cheeky, love to sing and dance, and keep me smiling.

My life’s motto is…

The thing I wish for the most is
to lead a happy life and inspire happiness in others.

Do you consider yourself a superhero? Why/Why not?

Not a superhero, just an addicted, energetic multi-tasker.

Well, we think that you MARVEL-lous! So….

Something very stylish, with heels please and Oh Voila jewellery.

What is your secret weapon that you save to help you against only the toughest of villains?
My sense of humour

If there was only one place in the world you could save, where would it be?
The planet earth,… cheeky but I have lived and visited so many countries, they all are amazing.

What do you do when you are not saving the world?
Who, me???

If we had to repay you for saving the world, how would we celebrate?
Traveling and discovering more amazing cultures. And a glass of bubbly helps too.

What is your ultimate superpower?
Left and right brained, so I battle between being a creative nerd or a mathematical artist.

What is the “thing” that you think we need in order to save the world?
The opposite of ignorance.

My superhero mantra is…
