Wrap up warm and meander from the Silo District to Pierhead, Alfred Mall and Nobel to the Watershed for a fun, mid-winter evening of entertainment and good food. Experience everything from dancers to buskers, DJs, musicians, food and drinks tastings, interesting talks and exhibitions. Shops and restaurants will remain open. Silo District 18 year old, Anica Kiana will entertain the crowd at the V&A Waterfront’s Silo District from 6pm. With role models such as American artists, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, Anica will captivate audiences with her own genre of pop songs. From 7pm, Fruit Vendor will be firing up the stage with their assortment of Afropop that fuses ghoema, funk, hip-hop, RnB and jazz sounds for everyone to enjoy at the Silo District. With Joshua Prinsloo as the band lead, the band won the Barleycorn Music Club’s annual song writing competition in 2018. Fruit Vendor has since shared stages with well-known artists such as, David Kramer, Karen Zoid, Die Antwoord and Prime Circle to name a few. Born and raised in Athlone, Cape Town, Jimmy Nevis has taken the music scene by storm. The 27 year old star will be entertaining the crowd with South African pop songs at the V&A Waterfront’s Silo District. Jimmy has performed with local artists such as MiCasa, Sketchy Bongo and Pascal & Pearce as well as two international singers, Tevin Campbell and Pharrell Williams. Pierhead Skumbuzo Salman known as “Skubalisto” will be showcasing a lumo paint graffiti interactive wall at Pierhead. The Cape Town born artist creates murals and canvases by using a range of spray paint, acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal and ink. His style resembles contemporary expressionist and his greater artworks can be found in the township of Langa. Skubalisto has also been exhibiting his canvases in collaboration with the Everard Read gallery at the V&A Waterfront. Be sure to stop by and see our busker Zenn, creating electro sounds and beats using his loop synthesized keyboard to keep you moving and your toes tapping. Alfred Mall + Nobel Square Warm things up by popping into Alfred Mall for some salsa dancing. Get moving and dancing with two Red Bull DJ’s, LED POI dancers and Instagram these moments with amplified lighting at Nobel Square. Watershed For all the music lovers, DJ Dario will be hitting the decks at the V&A Waterfront’s Watershed from 5pm. He specialises in selecting music that suits the crowd and mood and will get you dancing in no time. DJ Dario has played at well-known festivals such as Rocking the Daisies, Synergy and RestFest. Get a drink from the mobile bar and wander about the Watershed with it as you meet some of the makers of creative and innovative products: • Small and brightly coloured figurines from Bongolomba Carvings and its creator, Roger Bongolomba. • Aretha Doyle reduced her carbon footprint when she created Cool Tabs, accessories such as handbags and belts made from recycled can tabs. • Jewellery designer and owner, Tiffany Marx, makes unique and striking pieces such as rings, bracelets and necklaces for her store, Tiffany Marx Inspired Jewellery. • Davis Ndungu from Recycled Flip flop Sculptures makes handmade art work and sculptures out of recycled flip flops. • Award-winning potter, Anthony Shapiro from Anthony Shapiro Collect will be showcasing his iconic ceramic bowls. • Jenna Engeldoe from Raw Joy, who makes handmade jewellery from leather, metal and semi-precious stones, will tell you all about her craft.
