TAJ CAPE TOWN CELEBRATES THREE ART FORMS WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE GALLERY Luxury five-star hotel Taj Cape Town launches The Gallery, a new fine dining concept celebrating the synergy of three art forms – the art of wine making, culinary art and fine art. Each month The Gallery will showcase works of art by a new local artist that have been uniquely matched with a South African winemaker’s fine wines, paired with a bespoke menu, curated by one of the talented Taj Cape Town chefs. ‘The Gallery, invites guests on a journey through the Arts. It aims to tell a story both visually and through taste, offering guests a unique and exclusive dinning experience’, says Kaya Onaran, Taj Cape Town Director of Food and Beverage. The first Thursday of every month will see the launch of a new set of creatives –Chef, artist, and winemaker. In celebration of Woman’s Month, the August schedule includes works by Capetonian Fine Artist Sue Greef, wines created by Simonsig’s Debbie Thompson – one of the first ladies in the South African wine industry – and a delectable gastronomic line-up including dishes like seared scallops and our unique take on Beef Wellington, all masterfully prepared by Taj Cape Town Sous Chef, Samantha Lloyd. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, The Gallery consists of two adjacent rooms, both displaying the featured artist’s creations. The one room will be used for wine tasting and sales, whilst the other hosts the exclusive Chef’s Table. The Chef’s Table accommodates six to ten guests, with the dining experience cost starting from R795 per person with wine pairing, or R595 without wine pairing. The featured wine for the month, as well as the artist’s works on display will be sold in The Gallery for the duration of the month.
