Bush Retreat

Standing at 1030m, Zebra Heights is a breath-taking vantage point to Tomjachu Bush Retreat and the surrounding mountains and landscape. At sunset, the African sun paints the sky is an array of colours, silhouetting the acacia trees to creating an authentic feel of the African bush.

 

The thick bush peels away as one travels along Voortrekker road to expose Gordon’s Pools – a beautifully, secluded spot at the foot of a gently trickling waterfall where you can sit back and be surrounded by nothing but fresh mountain air and complete tranquillity.

 

Tucked into a small gulley below the plains stretching down from the main gate lies Symphony dam. With the melodious sounds in the early evening from an orchestra of frogs, the dam inarguably lives up to its name. This little dam stretches into the hills across the marsh, making it the ideal spot to let time wash over you whilst watching the Bee-eaters flit in and out of their holes in the dam wall.
