Former Springbok rugby captain, Francois Pienaar, was the guest speaker and special guest at a business breakfast hosted by Christel House School in Ottery on Tuesday.

 

The World Cup winning Springbok Captain of 1995 and acclaimed visionary in South Africa and abroad shared his thoughts on leadership, success and the importance of sport in today’s world.

 

The event included breakfast and Christel House music, song and dance, which left guests inspired and enlightened.  FRANCOIS PIENAAR ADDRESSES CHRISTEL HOUSE SCHOOL BUSINESS BREAKFAST

Christel House CEO, Nicky Sheridan, said “Christel House is a school for very poor children in Cape Town, who come from the twenty worst townships known for all the wrong reasons. However, through our holistic education model we enjoy fantastic results, including a 94% retention rate from Grade R through 12. We’ve never failed a Matric student, 65% of our students got a Bachelor pass last year (85% the year before) and, most importantly, 98% of our Graduates are gainfully employed once they’ve completed university.

 

“We need support. We are not a charity but a business that relies on funds coming in.”
