THANDY’S STAR SHINES BRIGHTER IN 2017 Best known for playing a rebellious teenager Lindiwe Ngema on Tshisa, Thandy is looking forward to making moves in 2017. Ms Matlaila makes a comeback on our screens as the comedic Cleopatra Maake, March 27th on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen. Cleopatra made her first debut on Mzansi Magic’s the Queen in September 2016 as Roy Maake’s ride and die wife. She is a streetwise fast talker with a heart of gold. Everything about Cleo screams Township fabulous: She’s the “Fabulous” in Ghetto Fabulous, according to her. She is loud and a straight talker, something her sister-in-law struggles to come to terms with. “I never expected such an overwhelming response on my first appearance on the show and without giving too much away, people can expect a crazier ghetto fabulous princess from Hammanskral” Thandy revealed. The versatile actress recently came back to South Africa from shooting in Thailand and she just recently shot a short film in Qwaqwa, Free State for Mzansi Magic. The film, titled PALEHO, will air early next month. Same month that she will start shooting a telenovela for one of Mzansi Magic’s SAFTA nominated shows in 2017. With too much energy to share, the active actress is embracing her sport and fitness side on her social media platforms which is a fitness challenge titled #PowerOf40. “Lent Season started on the 1st of March and I thought instead of people fasting from food etc during this period, I want to encourage my online community to do certain exercises for the 40 day period, remember your body is the temple of the Lord” Her original growing charity initiative “27 Dresses” which she successfully hosted last year is set to continue in August around her birthday. Thandy started this 4 years ago and she donates 27 matric farewell dresses and suits to 27 deserving underprivileged matriculants around Gauteng. Her wish is to see it growing outside of Gauteng and reach the rest of South Africa. Ms Matlaila loves to encourage the youth and is working on a self-help pocket book It’s Okay in 40 Days. The actress describes 2017 as the year of new possibilities, a new chapter and she is looking at grabbing every opportunity to be more, give more and have more. She lives by these quotes. Zazi Zithande Zithembe (Know yourself, Love yourself, Trust Yourself) Do you, Be You, Love you Be More, Give More, And Have More.
