Including Favourite Overall Professional Products Company at the 2014 Stylist Choice Awards

The 14th annual Stylist Choice Awards (SCA) on Sunday, March 23 was a night of celebration for Wella, the Salon Division of P&G and its portfolio of brands. Wella Professionals won the coveted Stylist Choice Award for Favorite Overall Professional Products Company for second year in a row and Favorite Overall Color Line for the third year in a row. Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professionals, Nioxin and Clairol Professionals were nominated in fourteen categories and took home a total of five awards, including Favorite New Color Line, Favorite Thinning Haircare System and Favorite Bleach Lightener.

This year marked an exciting first-time win for Wella Professionals in the Favorite New Color Line category, where ILLUMINA Color took home the honors. Nioxin proudly confirmed their place in the Stylist Choice Award Hall of Fame, after receiving Favorite Thinning Haircare System for the thirteenth year in a row.  Wella Professionals Blondor took home Favorite Bleach Lightener for the twelfth time. With awards for everything from daily shampoo to styling tools, over 75,000 licensed professionals voted online to determine category winners.  Held during America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, the event drew nearly 3,000 members of the hairdressing community including top CEOs and senior executives, world-renowned educators, artistic directors and leading stylists from around the nation.

The SCA is recognized by beauty industry professionals as the ultimate stamp of approval for professional products and services. The SCA event has become among the most important and most celebrated nights in the beauty industry.

There was no shortage of amazing moments, stellar creativity and awe-inspiring artistic presentations at the gala event. The evening featured an inspiring line up of top local and international hairdressing talent. The impressive roster included Australian Hairdresser of the Year Joey Scandizzo and guest artist Hermiz Daniel for Wella Professionals. The duo’s avant-garde presentation showcased, Wella’s newest breakthrough in color innovation.  

 On board to present the coveted awards were industry icons and superstars, including Diane Stevens and Shirley Gordon for Nioxin; Mark DeBolt and Marissa Kosolofski for Wella Professionals; and Sebastian Core Team members Omar Antonio and Marylle Koken. The evening also honored Joy LaMay; a recent winner of Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart, the Beauty Changes Lives Vidal Sassoon Scholarship. BTC founder Mary Rector-Gable presented LaMay with a special poster created and signed by Sassoon before he passed in 2012. LaMay was awarded the scholarship after submitting a unique video  (click link to view video) which celebrated the determination and inspiration found only in the salon industry, as her entry in the competition.
