The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Sport division has announced the launch of The Ultimate Sport Show (TUSS) on Metro FM. Renowned TV and Radio sports anchor Mpho Maboi will takes listeners on a journey into the world of women in sport every Thursday 18h00-19h30, starting 24 August 2017.
Bringing and fresh perspective to sporting discussions Mpho will also delve into the business and the influence that women have in sport.
Currently a studio and touchline sport presenter for SABC Sport, Mpho’s career spans over a decade in the entertainment industry. In April 2015, she joined Metro FM and is currently part of the South Africa’s biggest breakfast show Fresh Breakfast with DJ Fresh weekdays broadcasting from 05h00-08h00.
Ms. Sully Motsweni, Group Executive for SABC Sport stated “The show is aimed at being an aspirational sport show to which our audience’s world revolves around. With interactive discussions, taking an in-depth looks what listeners want to know about sport on and off the field. The Ultimate Sport Show will strengthen the ways in which we serve our diverse listeners”.
Ms. Sibongile Mtyali, Station Manager for Metro FM stated “We are excited about the all new and revamped sport offering. With The Ultimate Sport Show, the station will take sport content development and delivery to new heights. We are confident that the show will now integrate news genres of sport to the winning formula. Our listeners can look forward to an all-encompassing sport commentary five days a week”.
Ms Mtyali further stated “We are keyed up about Mpho Maboi taking over the Thursday slots on TUSS. We are positive that she will rise to the new challenge. She has proven over time to be a versatile broadcaster, well received and loved by Metro FM listeners”.
In keeping with women in sports this August the sports caster will host the very first “Mpho Maboi’s Women In Sports Sessions” featuring some of the country’s most successful and influential women in the industry. Focusing on broadcasting speakers include Lebo Motsoeli (SABC Sports), Kate Nokwe (E News), Busisiwe Mokwena (Kaya FM) and Itumeleng Dibatane (Stylist).
