Valentine’s Day is a day to not only share gifts with close loved ones but also to remember a good time to think of others and bring a little joy and hope into their lives. And so it was this in mind that the students and lecturers at the Capsicum Pretoria campus have decided to bake Valentine’s Day cupcakes and donate them to the Sungardens Hospice in Pretoria so that they can raise funds for the Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA).
The HPCA’s mission is to promote quality in life, dignity in death and support in bereavement for all those living with a life-threatening illness by supporting member hospices and partner organisations.
Says campus head Mark Coombe: “Our students and lecturers wanted to do something for Valentine’s Day that was more than just a commercial gesture and so we chose HPCA and decided to contribute towards their fund-raising efforts by making and donating cupcakes.”
Appropriately, the cupcakes will be delivered to HPCA on Friday morning.
