Epic Battle Provides the Opportunity to Meet Local Gamers, Compete and Claim Glory, Winning Top Prizes Including LG OLED TVs, Gaming Monitors and Speakers
LG Electronics (LG) has today launched a new Fortnite gaming competition for residents in South Africa. #SpotOfTriumph invites gaming enthusiasts of all abilities to participate in a series of battles for the chance to connect, meet famous gamers and win top prizes.
Since first hitting the scene in 2017, Fortnite has gone on to become a worldwide cultural phenomenon – garnering millions of concurrent players each day. With an aim to create new, immersive experiences for Fortnite fans, LG has created a series of 4 challenges under #SpotOfTriumph theme.
Starting from 3rd November, LG will be releasing a weekly show which airs every Wednesday on LG’s social media channels. This show will give viewers deeper insight into the competition, how to compete in the latest challenge and what is in store for the winner. Each week, LG will also delve deeper into the key features of its product portfolio and will be joined virtually by a local gaming stars, including Thea Beasty and Dons Plays, who will offer their commentary and tips and tricks for the new challenge.
New challenges will go live for a period of 48 hours every Friday and Saturday. Gamers have the opportunity to compete virtually.
To take part, gamers simply need to visit https://www.lg.com/za/spotoftriumph, register and enter their Epic Games ID for Fortnite, granting access for LG to track the relevant challenges. Players can then play Fortnite as usual, with their performance being monitored automatically. Score will be tallied and added to LG’s leaderboard, with winners announced every Sunday.

- The OLED Challenge: the most top 10 placement in a game
Prize: 27-inch LG UltraWide Gaming Monitor (Model 27GN650) – with HDR10 for greater clarity in light and dark gaming environments.
- The LG UltraGear Challenge: the most eliminations
Prize: 27-inch LG UltraWide Gaming Monitor (Model 27GN650) – with HDR10 for greater clarity in light and dark gaming environments.
- The LG Ultimate Sound Challenge: the most wins
Prize: 27-inch LG UltraWide Gaming Monitor (Model 27GN650) – with HDR10 for greater clarity in light and dark gaming environments.
- LG Creative Challenge: inviting the top 25 players from the country to participate in a creator mode competition (the final).
Grand Prize: 55-inch C1 OLED LG TV – with LG’s Game Optimizer function, providing enhanced picture and sound control for various genres including FPS, RPG and RTS.
Once a winner is crowned, LG will invite the top gamer to a ceremony, where they will be presented with the grand prize and have the opportunity to meet local gaming talent.
