The Twelve Apostles Terrace at Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has been named Africa’s Best MICE Event Venue at the 2026 World MICE Awards, retaining the title it won in 2025.
The winners were announced on 12 October at a ceremony at Princess Grand Jamaica. The World MICE Awards, part of the World Travel Awards portfolio, recognise excellence in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector.
Located at the summit of Table Mountain, the Twelve Apostles Terrace is an open-air venue offering panoramic views of Cape Town and the Atlantic seaboard. It gives event organisers an alternative to conventional conference and function spaces.
The venue was shortlisted alongside nominees from Morocco, the Republic of the Congo and Kenya.
Tracy Mkhize, recently appointed Managing Director of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC), said: “We are proud to receive this recognition. Hosting an event on Table Mountain brings people together in an extraordinary natural setting, and this award acknowledges the team behind those events and their commitment to creating memorable experiences for event organisers and their guests.”
The award coincides with TMACC’s 97th birthday this month, marking nearly a century of taking visitors to the summit of Table Mountain, a New 7 Wonders of Nature site.
Mkhize added: “Cape Town continues to attract leisure and business travellers from around the world. The Twelve Apostles Terrace contributes to the city’s business tourism offering with its distinctive setting for events.”
