From the moment I’ve entered the farm, the staff was phenomenal. They made my experience at Perdeberg amazing and there was just a lovely atmosphere. Myself and my partner were welcomed with a glass of bubbly.
The tasting room ambassador, Des Berends was a great host and explained the history of Perdeberg. They started in 1940 – wine farmers of Perdeberg region grew dissatisfied with the low prices they were getting for their premium quality grapes. In 1941/1942 Jan Rasouw an astute local farmer, suggested local farmers begin producing their own wine and Perdeberg Cellar was born. The first grapes were manually pressed in 1942. Situated at the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountain in Paarl, one of the finest wine-growing areas of the Cape, lies Perdeberg Cellar. The hallmark and most differentiating quality of Perdeberg wines is our predominant use of unirrigated vineyards, termed dry land vines.

We were then introduced to their wine tasting menu. Des presented the wine beautifully and explained what food will go well with each of the wines. A few of my absolute favourite wines include of the menu includes: Chenin Blanc MCC 2019, Malbec 2020 and Lighthearted Cinsault Rosé 2021.

As for my little one – she was over the moon with her juice and treats tasting. She had an option to choose form milk or juice and treats tasting. She enjoyed running around the beautiful lawn and playing on the jungle gym and the jumping castle. Perdeberg also offer kiddies parties.
