We had the pleasure of dining at the delightful Bistro1682, located in the stunning Steenberg Estate. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable evening filled with delicious food and great company.
Bistro1682 offers a tempting tapas menu that’s available daily from 17h00 to 20h30, making it the perfect spot for an early evening meal or a cozy night out. My dining friend and I opted for the tapas for two, and we were excited to indulge in a variety of small plates designed for sharing.
Our culinary adventure commenced with a complimentary serving of calamari and squid, beautifully prepared to whet our appetites. What followed were some truly standout dishes. The Hazelnut & Onion Crumb added a delightful crunch to the experience, while the Pickled Fish Tacos burst with flavour in every bite. One of my personal favourites was the Pan-Fried Chicken Livers, cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the accompanying flavours.
To wrap up our meal, we indulged in the Homemade Chocolate Truffle for dessert. Perfectly rich and decadent, it was the ideal sweet finish.
What truly made our evening special was the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Thalente. His warm demeanour and attention to detail ensured that everything was just right. He was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also attentive without being intrusive, making our experience even more enjoyable.
The vibe at Bistro1682 was simply fantastic. We were fortunate to have perfect weather, allowing us to soak in the beautiful views of the estate while savouring our meal. The combination of good food, great service, and picturesque surroundings made for a wonderful social experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dinner.
