I’m always on the lookout for exciting new beverages to try, and when I got my hands on the South Side Hard Soda range, I couldn’t wait to taste all four flavours.

South Side Hard Soda offers a refreshing twist on your traditional ready-to-drink beverage, with bold fruit flavours that are vibrant, easy to enjoy, and perfect for sharing with friends. Whether you’re catching up around a cosy fire, enjoying a weekend braai, or simply unwinding after a long week, there’s a flavour to suit every mood.
I recently tried all four flavours, and here’s what I thought…
Cranberry & Raspberry – My Favourite!
This was love at first sip!
The cranberry brings a subtle tartness, while the raspberry adds just the right touch of sweetness. Together, they create a beautifully balanced flavour that’s fruity, crisp and incredibly moreish without being overly sweet.
It’s refreshing, smooth and definitely one I’d reach for again and again.
My rating: ★★★★★ (10/10)
Perfect for:
- Weekend catch-ups with friends
- Cosy evenings around the fire
- Celebrations and special occasions
Pineapple & Coconut
This flavour instantly transports you somewhere tropical.
The juicy pineapple shines through beautifully, while the coconut adds a smooth, mellow finish that complements the fruit perfectly. It’s light, refreshing and a little taste of paradise—even on a chilly winter’s day.
If you enjoy tropical flavours, this one’s definitely worth trying.
My rating: ★★★★☆ (8.5/10)
Passion Fruit
If you’re a passion fruit fan, you’ll love this one.
It has a vibrant tropical flavour with just the right amount of sweetness, balanced by a refreshing finish. It’s bold, fruity and easy to drink, making it another enjoyable addition to the range.
My rating: ★★★★☆ (8/10)
Lime & Lemon – Another Favourite!
This was my second standout flavour.
The combination of lime and lemon creates a wonderfully crisp citrus taste that’s clean, zesty and incredibly refreshing. It’s light, smooth and has that perfect balance between sweetness and citrus.
I can definitely see myself reaching for this one time and time again.
My rating: ★★★★★ (10/10)
My Final Verdict
I genuinely enjoyed tasting the entire South Side Hard Soda range, and what I loved most is that each flavour has its own unique personality.
If I had to choose my favourites, it would definitely be:
Cranberry & Raspberry and Lime & Lemon
Both flavours are beautifully balanced, refreshing and incredibly easy to enjoy.
Whether you’re planning a weekend braai, hosting friends at home, celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to try something different, South Side Hard Soda offers a flavour for every palate.
I always love discovering products that deliver on both flavour and quality, and South Side certainly didn’t disappoint. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend picking up a few flavours and seeing which one becomes your favourite.
What really impressed me about South Side Hard Soda is that it offers a lighter drinking option without compromising on flavour. Each 440ml can contains just 72 calories, only 3g of sugar, and 5% alcohol by volume (ABV), making it a great choice for those who want to be mindful of what they’re drinking while still enjoying something delicious and refreshing. It’s proof that you don’t have to sacrifice taste for a lighter beverage—South Side delivers on both. As always, enjoy responsibly..
What I really love about the South Side brand is that it goes beyond what’s in the can. Its merchandise collection perfectly captures the brand’s fun, bold, and proudly local personality, featuring stylish oversized T-shirts, crop tops, an Ice Bucket Top, and even drinking games designed for sharing good times with friends. It’s clear that South Side isn’t just creating a beverage—it’s building a lifestyle and a community that celebrates great moments, good company, and unforgettable memories. If you’re a fan of the brand, their merchandise is definitely worth checking out.
Have you tried South Side Hard Soda yet? I’d love to know which flavour tops your list!
