A fine-dining experience that transcends borders and break boundaries, taking diners on a culinary trip around the globe in the comfort of their own homes!
Gåte at Quoin Rock is offering an unparalleled three-course tasting journey curated by culinary masterminds, Chefs Nicole Loubser and JamesWould. The Gåte at Home box creates a dialogue between art, tradition, and technical craft.
Products are sourced locally from an abundant supply of licenced food and essential goods distributors. Quoin Rock Estate prioritises the health and safety of all their patrons and staff, and during this period the estate continues to conform to all health protocols implementing the highest level of hygiene stringency.
The debut Gåte at Home three-course set menu is available to order. Gearing up for Winter, the toasty starter comprises a warm Italian soup, served with Gåte’s iconic cigar and finished with a mesmerising Thyme cream reduction.
The second course imbues a rich sense of Japan with well-balanced umami flavours incorporated within the richly indulgent Pork Belly, pickled cucumber and Shemeji mushroom reduction.
A decadent dessert in completion of the continental escapade lands one’s pallet in the Caribbean with the Pina Colada Panna Cotta with mint and pineapple salsa.
Kids Mac and Cheese also available at R50 per person.
The opportunity of elevation and escapism to the far-reaching corners of the world is more prevalent now than ever. Dining together with family and loved ones is one of life’s greatest gifts and opportunities for celebration. This Father’s Day, 21 June, why not celebrate the patriarch of the house with a Gåte at Home dining box set, delivered directly to your doorstep.
“We are using our passion and love for food and entertainment to make an impact in other people’s lives. Our flavours and art should not only be experienced in our restaurant but also in the comfort of your home.” – Head Chef, Nicole Loubser

The chefs and their respective kitchen crews have set up a soup kitchen producing over 20 000 portions per week. Gåte at Quoin Rock Head Chef, Nicole Loubser notes; “Everyone has the right to food, therefore I am glad we at Gåte can help those in need and make a difference and not let anyone go to bed with an empty stomach.”
The project is specifically a response to Covid-19and will prospectively run until September 2020. For more information, visit www.stellenboschunite.org or email give@stellenboschunite.org. WhatsApp or SMS messages can be sent to 062 206 8031.
