South African silk atelier debuts wellness-focused sleepwear designed to enhance rest and regeneration
Mantua founder Juandi Andrag has unveiled “Nocturne,” a sleep and ritual wear collection that transforms bedtime into a beauty treatment.
The collection features silk sleep masks engineered for deeper rest, pillowcases that prevent hair breakage and sleep lines, pyjamas elegant enough for daywear, and jewel-toned velvet robes (deep red, midnight blue, royal purple) with silk piping details.
“In creating ‘Nocturne,’ we’ve considered both the physiological and psychological dimensions of rest,” explains Juandi. “Each piece offers physical comfort while signalling that rest deserves reverence – it’s a practice worthy of intention.”

The collection represents Mantua’s core philosophy: silk as wellness ally rather than mere luxury fabric.
The Science: Mantua’s 100% mulberry silk reduces hair friction, prevents skin creasing, and maintains optimal hydration levels. Unlike synthetics that trap moisture and create friction, silk actively supports the body’s overnight regeneration process.
The Market: Targeting conscious consumers who invest in functional luxury – women who understand that quality extends beyond aesthetics to actual wellbeing benefits.
The Craft: Every print is hand-painted in South Africa, featuring watercolour gradients inspired by twilight transitions. Each piece transitions seamlessly from bedroom to casual daywear.
