When world renowned illusionist Rob Lake takes to the stage at the GrandWest Grand Arena on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October, audiences will understand why he is dubbed the ‘World’s Greatest Illusionist’.
The audience can expect to witness jaw dropping illusions woven together by inspiring storytelling and set against an elaborate, interactive theatrical backdrop.
Lake has performed to sold out audiences in more than 45 countries around the world, and in renowned venues from Las Vegas to Hollywood and Times Square New York to the Dubai Opera House. He even designs and consults for Broadway productions and musicals, Walt Disney and even Adele’s Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
In 2008, he became the youngest magician in history to receive the Merlin Award for International Stage Magician of the Year. The Awards are the Oscars for the industry.
There are two two-hour shows each day, one beginning at 3pm and one beginning at 8pm. Tickets can be bought from Ticket Master at between R435 and R600 each.

Joe Barber is back to mark 25 years of laughter with a new series of live performances at the GrandWest Grand Arena from 16 to 19 October.
Starring David Isaacs and Oscar Petersen, the show revisits the adventures and anecdotes of Boeta Joe and Gamat at the much-loved barber shop, and also features popular characters Washiela and Outjie.
Tickets are available from Ticket Master from R395. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

R&B legends BlackStreet will perform in South Africa for the first time on Sunday, 27 October at the GrandWest Grand Arena.
The grammy-award winning band will perform many of their hits such as Don’t Leave, (Money Can’t) Buy Me Love, Never Gonna Let You Go and the iconic No Diggity.
Also taking to the stage is South African musician Lwa Ndlunkulu.

If gin is your favourite drink then look no further than the Schweppes Cape Town Gin Festival at the GrandWest Sun Exhibits and Sun Park areas for a celebration of all things gin.
South African distillers have become known for producing world class gin using a variety of indigenous botanicals such as Fynbos, Buchu and even Rooibos. These brands have placed South Africa firmly on the international gin map and the world’s taking notice. In recent years, local gin brands have won numerous awards at international gin competitions and South African gin is competing with the best in the world.
Guests can look forward to a wide variety of local gin flavours and each entry ticket also includes a gin glass and complimentary gin cocktail on arrival. Food vendors will also take care of even the heartiest appetite.
The Festival is open from 12pm to 10pm. Tickets are available from Howler at R280 for general access and R550 for a Sip and Paint ticket. The art class includes an A4 canvas, oil paint and everything else an artist would need. Classes run between 1pm and 6pm on the day and guests may join any class they prefer.
Note, no under 18s allowed.
