Onomo Hotel Cape Town Waterfront is proud to announce the launch of “Space and Time,” a solo exhibition by emerging visual artist Cascia Day of Diem Creations. The exhibition will officially open on Thursday, 21 May 2026, at 17:30.
The title of the exhibition finds its inspiration in the profound words of Jean-Michel Basquiat: “Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time.” For Day, this collection serves as an exploration of that very decoration – a way to map the human experience onto both the physical walls we inhabit and the fleeting moments we move through.
This showcase is the latest instalment of the hotel’s #OnomoCreatives initiative, a platform dedicated to supporting local talent and bringing accessible cultural experiences to the Cape Town community. Following last month’s successful photographic exhibition by Brandon Lakey, Onomo continues its journey to celebrate creativity within its spaces.
“Space and Time” features a curated selection of works from Day’s most evocative series, including Stone Angels, Spaced Out, Valkyrie and Global Street Art Safari. The artworks will remain on display throughout the hotel for three months, with original pieces available for purchase.
Cascia Day is a multidisciplinary creative whose work explores storytelling through gel plate printmaking and mixed media. Alongside her artistic practice, she is also a medical professional and researcher, bringing a unique blend of science and creativity to her work. Her exhibition, Space and Time, reflects themes of resilience, transformation and the human experience through bold colour, layered textures and symbolic imagery.
An Interactive Creative Experience
In a unique addition to the opening night, guests will have the rare opportunity to participate in a collaborative art-making session with the artist. Cascia Day will invite guests to help decorate “space and time” by co-creating an original piece live during the event. To ensure an intimate experience, availability is limited and participants will be randomly selected from the attendees.
