Breaking news! Double GRAMMY-award winning global singer and songwriter Tyla makes not one but two major announcements for the Gauteng leg of her forthcoming hugely anticipated A*POP WORLD TOUR due to kick off in Paris on October 12 with stop over concerts in South Africa in January 2027 before heading “down under”.
Firstly, the Saturday, January 9 concert was scheduled to take place at the Nasrec Outdoor Area in Johannesburg, but following concerns over possible Highveld thunderstorms coupled with a review of the overall audience experience and requests for seating, another space was sought. Local promoters Showtime Management and Anything Goes are pleased to have secured availability at Pretoria’s SunBet Arena which is also Gauteng’s premier world-class indoor arena that also offers a seating option.
Then for the biggest news yet! Tygers asked. Tyla listened! Owing to popular demand, Tyla adds a second Gauteng concert date at SunBet Arena on Friday, January 8 so now even more Tygers can experience this global star live on stage, on home ground.
Tyla performed a sold-out concert at SunBet Arena in 2025 – so her Tyger’s know what to expect, but with new material from the singer-songwriters recently released second studio album A*POP, which reached Number 1 on the Billboard US World Albums chart and Number 3 on the UK R&B Albums chart, Tyla kicks off 2027 with double Gauteng concert dates. Tickets for the new date, January 8 and new venue date o 9 January 2027 are on sale exclusively at Ticketmaster.co.za. Seating tickets cost from R895 excluding the Service Fee.
For anyone who had already purchased tickets for the January 9 show, these tickets remain secure and have been automatically transferred to the new venue in the same ticket category. Howler has been in direct contact with all ticketholders regarding replacement tickets, refunds, etc. and all tickets are now migrated to Ticketmaster.
The 34-date A*POP WORLD TOUR, Tyla’s first full headline tour, includes dates all over Europe and the UK and a jam-packed North American leg taking in cities from Toronto to Los Angeles and now with three concerts on the singer’s home continent – at the Green Point Track in Cape Town on Monday, January 04 and the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Friday, January 08 and Saturday, January 09. Important show information: Event age restriction is 6+ years. No unaccompanied minors. For safety reasons the Golden Circle and General Access standing areas at SunBet Arena are both restricted to ticket holders aged 12 or older and at least 1.2 m tall.
