Benguela Cove Unveils Valentine’s Day 2026 Programme: A Fusion of Luxury Villas and Coastal Fine Dining
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate announces its curated 2026 Valentine’s Day programme, designed for couples, food enthusiasts, and group celebrations. With Valentine’s Day falling on Saturday, 14 February, the estate has expanded its offerings to include luxury weekend stays, bespoke culinary events, and lagoon-based experiences.
A Culinary Showcase at Moody Lagoon Restaurant
Executive Chef Christo Hatting has developed a sophisticated three-course set menu for the Valentine’s dinner service (18:00 – 21:00). The menu prioritises fresh, local ingredients:
· Starters: Choice of oysters served two ways or deep-fried pork belly with a herb, celery, and strawberry salad.
· Mains: Options include seared Cape salmon on confit garlic mash, rolled beef fillet with fig and cream cheese, or a vegetarian beetroot and rocket salad with caramelised onions.
· Dessert: A sharing canapé platter featuring millionaire shortbread, dark chocolate-covered strawberries, and raspberry cheesecake.
For those preferring daytime celebrations, the estate offers brunch (09:30 – 11:30), a seasonal lunch menu (12:00 – 17:00), and pre-ordered gourmet picnic hampers to enjoy on the lagoon-side lawns.
Luxury Waterfront Accommodation
To accommodate the expected surge in weekend travel, Benguela Cove offers exclusive villa rentals. These architectural homes sit directly on the water’s edge, providing guests with hot tubs, private pools, high-end amenities, and immediate access to the vineyards. The collection includes intimate spaces for couples and five-bedroom villas suited for “Galentine’s” groups.
Vineyard and Lagoon Experiences
The estate’s Tasting Room is open daily from 09:30 to 21:00, offering specialised wine tastings, pairings and cellar tours. Visitors can book a Vineyard Safari to explore the cool-climate terroir or explore the curated Seasonal Courtyard Market, with scenic views of the Palmiet mountains and Bot River Lagoon.
“Valentine’s Day 2026 offers a unique opportunity for a full weekend retreat,” says the estate management. “By combining our award-winning cool-climate wines with luxury onsite accommodation, we provide a seamless experience for guests to celebrate without leaving the estate.”
