There’s something truly special about a relaxed Sunday lunch, and our experience at The President Hotel’s Sunday Lunch Carvery was everything we hoped for and more. Set against the backdrop of a beautiful summer’s day in Cape Town, it was the perfect way to unwind, indulge, and spend quality time as a family.
A Warm Welcome & Stunning Setting
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the wonderful staff who immediately made us feel at home. With the weather being absolutely perfect, we chose to sit outside in the poolside area, which added to the relaxed holiday atmosphere. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the views alone make this a destination worth visiting.
Our waiter, Chwaylita, was phenomenal. She showed us around with such warmth and professionalism, ensuring we knew exactly what the buffet had to offer and checking in regularly throughout our meal. Her energy and attentiveness truly elevated the experience.

Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavour. From comforting classics to interactive food stations, the variety ensures that both adults and children leave happy and satisfied.
The experience was perfectly complemented by their amazing cocktails — beautifully crafted, refreshing, and ideal for sipping while soaking in the ocean views and relaxed poolside atmosphere.
Poolside Bliss & Family-Friendly Fun
The infinity pool, with its panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, truly makes the poolside area at The President Hotel one of the best places to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate.
One of the biggest highlights for the kids was the pool access. Not long after lunch, they couldn’t wait to jump in and cool off. The hotel also offers day visitors access to the pool, making it an ideal option for families looking to enjoy a full day out. Their day pass is R650 per person to relax poolside which includes a R350 credit towards food and drinks. For kiddies, it is R100 each. There is limited availability, pre-bookings are essential.
Kids’ Club Holiday Programme
Another standout feature was the kids’ club holiday programme, running throughout the festive season. Each day offers different activities such as cupcake decorating, arts and crafts, family-friendly movies, games, and more — an absolute win for parents looking to enjoy some downtime while the kids stay entertained.
A special mention goes to Zoe from Guest Experience, who went above and beyond to ensure the kids had an amazing time. Her care and attention made a big difference and added a personal touch to our visit.
