As Tishala Communications celebrates eight years in business, the agency is reflecting on a journey shaped by strategic storytelling, adaptability and growth in an ever-evolving communications landscape.
Tishala first entered the technology communications space in 2019 through its involvement with the AI Expo. When the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted industries across the globe in 2020, the agency found new opportunities within the international technology ecosystem, as growing demand from start-ups and technology businesses increased the need for strategic communications support.
“We are storytellers. We craft stories that not only convey information but also resonate with audiences,” says Nomsa Mdhluli, Founder and CEO of Tishala Communications.
The agency’s work with global identity verification and anti-fraud company Sumsub led to a 2025 Gold PRISM Award in the Technology category for the campaign, The Rise of Deepfake Fraud During Elections.
“Winning the award affirmed the value of our work within the technology sector. Over the years, we have developed expertise in translating complex technological concepts into meaningful stories that audiences can understand and engage with,” says Nomsa.
A strong team remains central to the agency’s success. Today, Tishala Communications is powered by a team of talented women who contribute across public relations, content, digital marketing and strategic communications.
“What is humbling to me is that people have chosen to work with me at Tishala. I do not take that for granted. We work together as a team, striving towards a shared vision,” she says.
As the communications industry continues to evolve, Tishala Communications remains committed to helping brands connect with audiences through strategic storytelling, meaningful engagement and innovative communications approaches.
