While most people enjoy heading out and trying a new cocktail, there’s something extra special about gathering a few good friends at home, whipping out your cocktail shakers, and letting your imagination go wild. And on 13 May, it’s Apple Pie Day, and what better excuse than an apple-themed day to try your hand at making an Apple-tini.
Apple-tinis are the perfect combination of sweet and sour as they taste like a crisp apple with a small hint of sweetness and a dash of lemon juice to make every sip refreshing!
Our friends at Dutoit Apples know a thing or two about apples (wink wink), and they have tried their hand at almost every recipe featuring apples – all in the name of research – to be able to bring you this Apple-tini recipe that not only tastes delicious, but will have your guests asking for a refill.
This recipe only takes a few minutes to prepare leaving you with plenty of time to socialise with friends or catch up with your partner while you enjoy your Apple-tinis.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg white
- 45 ml / a tot and half of gin – you can make it stronger or weaker if you like or leave it out completely and opt for a delicious mocktail instead
- 85 ml fresh Dutoit apple juice from a Granny Smith or Royal Gala.
- 1 teaspoon caramel syrup
- 1 and half teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Ice cubes
Method:
- Add all the ingredients except the ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for about 25 seconds. This will help everything merge with the egg white.
- Add about 5 ice blocks to the shaker and give it another good shake for at least 30 seconds.
- Strain the cocktail into a pretty glass and garnish it with a few very thinly sliced fresh Dutoit apple on a cocktail stick and a pinch of cinnamon.
