A celebration of Moët & Chandon’s savoir-faire, enduring heritage and art of turning every moment into an occasion. Moët & Chandon needs no occasion to raise a glass, but this Champagne Day weekend (23–25 October), the Maison is offering South Africa its finest reason yet. From intimate soirées to golden-hour toasts, a series of exclusive celebrations will unfold across South Africa.
Across the region, from South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana to Dubai, Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, DRC and Cameroon, glasses will be raised to a legacy of celebration dating back to 1743, with participating venues across South Africa.
Founded by Claude Moët, Moët & Chandon has spent nearly three centuries bringing the art of Champagne to the world. Today, the Maison embodies timeless elegance, shaped by a rich heritage and a legacy that continues to define the world of Champagne.
From its earliest days, Moët & Chandon has grown into one of the world’s most recognised Champagne houses, now enjoyed in more than 150 countries. Every second, somewhere in the world, a Moët & Chandon cork pops, a testament to a distinctive Champagne style made to mark every occasion, from life’s greatest milestones to its most intimate celebrations.
At the heart of Moët & Chandon lies an exceptional terroir, shaped by generations of savoir-faire and a deep respect for nature. With 1,300 hectares of vineyards across Champagne, spanning a mosaic of Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites, the Maison draws from one of the region’s most diverse and remarkable terroirs.
This commitment extends beyond the vineyard. Through Natura Nostra, the Maison’s pioneering biodiversity programme, Moët & Chandon is creating ecological corridors across its vineyards, supporting the movement and life cycles of local plant and animal species. By 2025, 85 kilometres of hedgerows had been planted across the estate and with partner winegrowers, contributing not only to biodiversity but also to water preservation, soil protection and the enhancement of Champagne’s UNESCO-recognised landscape.
Working closely with its 2,300 partner winegrowers, the Maison is helping shape more sustainable practices across the region – transforming collective action into a lasting commitment to the land and to future generations.
At the heart of Moët & Chandon’s universe stands Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial, the Maison’s timeless icon, first crafted in 1869. Like the little black dress of Champagne, it is an enduring classic – instantly recognisable, effortlessly elegant and made to transcend occasions. Its signature style draws on the richness and diversity of Champagne, blending more than 100 wines from over 280 crus, representing nearly 90% of the region. Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay come together with reserve wines to create its distinctive balance of joyful fruitiness, refined maturity and effortless pleasure.
“Each bottle of Moët & Chandon whispers a tale – of artistry, nature, and joie de vivre. On Champagne Day, we celebrate this cherished heritage, honour our deep roots and our raison d’être for a sustainable future. We invite you to raise a glass of Champagne with us, from Moët & Chandon with love!” says Aimee Kellen, Regional Marketing Director, Moët Hennessy Middle East & Africa.”
Champagne Day is an invitation to come together and experience the spirit of Moët & Chandon, a Maison whose heritage has been rooted in the art of celebration since 1743.
