There’s no doubt about the fact that our hands play a huge role in our daily activities. Imagine how hard it would be, if not impossible, to not use them for just a day? However, because we use our hands so often, they’re exposed to dirt and bacteria the most. That’s why it’s crucial that we keep them clean and protected against germs – especially with the pandemic that we’re facing now.
Here are tips to help give your hands the best care and protection:
Wash your hands regularly
If there’s one thing that that the current pandemic has taught us is the importance of personal hygiene and that washing our hands goes a long way in preventing the spread of the virus. On average, you should be washing your hands at least 6 times a day. This is because you go to the bathroom, prepare food, feed your children, clean or empty your trash can – amongst other factors.
Use a hand wash liquid soap, beauty bar or body soap to keep dirt at bay. LUX bar soaps are effective in washing away germs and preventing them from spreading.
Sanitise!
For maximum protection against germs and bacteria, you should sanitise your hands after every handwash. However, it’s important to note that alcohol-based hand sanitisers are effective even if you haven’t washed your hands with soap and water.
Apply gel to the palm of your hand and rub all over your hands and fingers until they are dry.
Exfoliate once a week
Exfoliation is prevalent in a lot of people’s face care regimes but not so popularly used to exfoliate hands. Scrub your hands at least once a week with a body wash or body scrub to get rid of dirt and dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Gently scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds and rinse them with lukewarm water.
Moisturise your hands
As important as hand washing is, we can probably all agree that it does make our hands pretty dry. That’s why you should apply a good quality moisturiser on your hands to keep your hands smooth and hydrated. Do this after every wash to avoid dry and flaky hands and nails.
With these tips, your hands will be protected against germs and look their best.
