Four steps to celebrate Brow Day.
National Brow Day is celebrated on the 2nd October every year, yup you read that right, it’s an actual thing! Brow Day has been celebrated for the past two years in America and is testament to the fact that brows matter, your brows matter!!
Brows have become such a trend that you will have noticed Brow Bars popping up at your local shopping mall. It’s your season to get that uncomplicated brow look at home and here are some tips on how to get that uncomplicated natural look in four easy steps:
All you will need is your favourite make-up brush and a make-up pencil
1) The starting point – this is the key to creating the perfect brow. Start by placing your make-up brush and line it up with the inside corner of your eye. Where it overlaps with your brow is where is should begin. Mark the spot with the eyeliner pencil.
Bear in mind that if you have close-set eyes, you will want your brows a little further apart. If you have wide-set eyes, keep them a little closer.
2) Find that high & mighty spot, where your eyebrows arche – this is the spot to focus on. Most brows naturally arch around the eye and the peak is what gets you that look. Look at yourself in the mirror and line up the make-up brush with the outer edge of your nostril and the other edge of your iris. Put a dot on your brow, where the brush crosses your brow. If you have a round face, angle your brow or if you have a square or oblong face then opt for a rounded brow.
3) Where to end – Your brows need to frame your eyes gracefully. Place your make-up brush from the edge of the nostril to the outer corner of your eye. When it comes to your brow this is where it should end. If you have a long face, extend your brows a little further, if you have a wider face then the outer ends of your brows should be more delicate.
4) Thick or Thin – This is a personal decision. Keep the following in mind when making your decision
a. If you have big eyes, then thicker brows balance them out, if you have small eye then thick brows might overshadow them
b. The size of your lips count. A good general rule is that your eyebrows should be the same thickness as your upper lip. This ties the look together.
