This Mandela Day, the Salesian Institute Youth Projects (SIYP) invites individuals, organisations, and community changemakers to spend just one hour in the true spirit of Ubuntu — giving their time and resources to help feed the less fortunate.
On 18 July, join celebrity chef Jenny Morris and the SIYP team in a hands-on, heart-driven soup and sandwich drive in support of Cape Town’s underserved communities.
Participants are encouraged to bring along:
🔪 A knife and chopping board
🥕 Fresh vegetables and non-perishables
❤️ A donation — monetary or in-kind donations — to support this meaningful cause
“It only takes 67 minutes to spark real change,” says CEO of SIYP, Fr Francois Dufour, “and imagine the impact we make when we come together — with our hands, our hearts, and a little food magic!”
In 2024, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, SIYP served over 10,400 cups of soup and distributed more than 9,000 sandwiches to underserved communities in Cape Town.
Your generosity played a crucial role in making Mandela Day impactful and memorable for so many. Let’s do it again!
