Traveling is the perfect escape from routine, but there’s one thing you can’t leave behind: laundry. Whether you’re backpacking or enjoying a beach getaway this holiday season, knowing how to keep your clothes fresh without any hassle can make all the difference while on your adventure.
“Laundry is not something we want to tackle with while on holiday,” comments Bronwyn Ragavan, brand manager for Personal Touch. “However, even though we may not like it, it needs to be done.”
Ragavan suggests five tips to keep laundry to a minimum while on holiday, and still have clean clothes:
- Start by packing clothes made of lightweight, quick-drying fabrics. These not only save space in your luggage but also allow you to wash and dry them overnight. Think wrinkle-resistant shirts, moisture-wicking activewear and versatile scarves.
- Toss a travel-size box of Personal Touch Sheets into your luggage. Washing Powder sheets means no spill, no mess. This A5, 90g box provides up to 18 washes and takes up hardly any space in your luggage. These are lifesavers for a quick wash in the hotel sink or during a camping trip and can be used for both machine and handwash.
- A compact clothesline with suction cups or hooks ensures you can dry your clothes anywhere—from your hotel room to a sunny spot on the balcony. Pair this with fast-drying fabrics, and you’ll be set for the next day.
- Separate clean and dirty clothes using zippered laundry bags. This keeps your suitcase organised and prevents odours from spreading to clean garments.
- Make laundry a breeze with these tips by using the hotel sink to wash a few items. Plug the sink, fill it with lukewarm water, and add half a Personal Touch sheet. Wash your clothes, rinse thoroughly, and hang to dry.
Packing smart for laundry on the go is all about being prepared and flexible. With the right tools – like a reliable detergent and quick-drying fabrics – you can focus less on chores and more on making memories. After all, a little planning goes a long way toward keeping your vacation stress-free and fabulous.
Bon voyage and happy washing.
