There’s nothing quite like the energy of a live music festival, and this year’s Galaxy K-Day hosted by 5FM truly delivered an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
From the moment we arrived, the excitement in the air was undeniable — and being in the VIP area made it even more special. The VIP section was absolutely incredible, offering a comfortable and elevated festival experience. With plenty of seating, including tables and chairs, it was the perfect space to relax while still soaking in the atmosphere. The view of the stage from this area was amazing — clear, uninterrupted, and ideal for enjoying every performance.

The food and drinks in the VIP section were top-tier, adding to the overall premium feel. Everything was well-organised, and the vibe was just right — lively, social, and full of good energy. A standout detail for me was how clean and well-maintained the VIP bathrooms were, which always makes a big difference at events like these.

Of course, we couldn’t stay in VIP the whole time — we made our way down to the main stage and general access area, and the vibe there was just as electric. The crowd was full of energy, and it was amazing to experience the festival from different perspectives.

One of the highlights of the day was the variety of pop-up brand activations scattered across the venue. These interactive spaces gave festival-goers the chance to engage, have fun, and even win some really cool prizes from brands like Crocs, HeyDude and Essence. It added an extra layer of excitement beyond just the music.
Food lovers were also spoiled for choice, with a wide selection of food trucks offering something for everyone — whether you were craving something sweet, savoury, or somewhere in between.

And then, of course, there was the music — the heart of the festival. The lineup was nothing short of amazing, featuring incredible performances from Tristan Adams, Lordkez, Ard Matthews, Msaki, Booshle G, Temple Boys, Liquideep, Will Linley, YoungstaCPT, and DJ Kent. Each act brought their own unique energy, keeping the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the day.

Overall, Galaxy K-Day was the perfect blend of great music, vibrant energy, interactive experiences, and top-notch hospitality. Whether you were there for the performances, the vibes, or the activities, there was truly something for everyone to enjoy.
It’s definitely one of those events I’d attend again — and recommend to anyone looking for a fun, high-energy day out in Cape Town.
